Probably no change at the pump. The federal mandate that requires Ethanol in our tanks hasn't changed.

Neither of them have any place mixed with gasoline for use in carburetted
engines. This whole deal on blended fuels is an attempt to artificially
raise the price of the tax base to Governments without enrichening the Big
oil interests. The farmers who all bought into raising corn to make into
fuels and invested heavily in processing plants are taking it in the
shorts, just like the consumer of the end products. Blended fuels are
packing less BTUs per gallon, something on the order of 10 percent, which
makes the vehicles that are using it also less efficient. The only entities
that benefit from this are governments whose revenue comes from taxes per
gallon pumped, and gasoline manufacturers who sell more gallons as a
result. It drives up the cost of feed corn, and everything that eats it as
well. And if that were not bad enough, it deteriorates any rubber parts
that are not compounded to resist it. Vapor locks, too. But, "We are from
the Government, and we are here to help you." thinking has allowed this to
happen. Vote your conscience come election day. But, Vote and remember a
Veteran when you do. Happy New Year.

I would disagree.
Butanol is almost a perfect alcohol analog to gasoline, perfectly bendable
with gasoline in any quantity and useable at 100% in unaltered carbureted or
fuel injected engines ( not to mention fully compatible with current fuel
infrastructure ).
While there is a slight decrease in performance ( ~8% ) in unaltered engines
( compared to ~40 decrease with ethanol ), fairly common adjustments, can
compensate and make use of butanol's higher net energy ( ~10% ) than
gasoline.
Another benefit of butanol is that it's easier to make from non-food
materials, than ethanol is, which could actually reduce the cost of butanol
blended gasoline in the long run, even after the minor reductions in engine
efficiency are taken into account.
As far as gaskets are concerned, modern gasket material is not affected by
it any more than modern gasket material is affected by gasoline.
Simply put, blended fuels are here to stay, even if it's only a seasonal
thing, and butanol has allot more going for it than the others.
