Pretty dirty for a "rebuilt". I would suspect that a dirty outside does not equal a clean inside. May be this one is a candidate for use as a core, or to be re-built. Core prices are in the $250 (USD) neighborhood.
Read the referenced article on the TH425. Lots of very good free information.
The car transmission is different from ones used in the coach.

I "thought" Manny "could" use a car tranny as a core for a MH tranny rebuild ?? Also, would not a known good car tranny and 3.07 "diff" be useable MH spare ?? What say the "experts" ?
Offer $200 CDN and see what happens.

Rebuilt 10 years ago.
Who knows what has happened since then. High miles, low maintenance?

I bought one off Craigslist (without the word "rebuilt") for a core.

It cost me $75.

I would not "pay" for a "undocumented" rebuild.

I believe Manny prefers car trannys for cores. The final drives are the
same with the exception of the '66 and '67 units. They are full planetary
sets and are much stronger than the '68 and newer. The ratio is also
better, 3.21:1 If you choose to use one, make sure you take
the drive axle and block support bracket.

Steve,

I replaced the 3.07 in Double Trouble with a 3.21 that I got off eBay. The guts are seriously beefy compared to the 3.07. I can see
why they stopped using them as they probably cost seriously more too!

The down side to the 3.21 is that you can't install one of JimK's limited slip units. :-(

Rob M.
