What's the preferred gasket for the oil cooler adaptor?

I took a WIX filter off, and the gasket was a little too big, so I put the one I took off back in (not the preferred method).

I put JR Slatens lines in as well. Very nicely done!

So, do I sacrifice a different brand filter, or assault the parts counter at the local GM stealership?

Excuse me for not being my usual wordy and sporadically verbose self. This message is sent from my iPad, which is, in many ways, an iPhone on steroids.

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. Few long dead dinosaurs were involved. A large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

The rubber gasket from a Fram oil filter is what works.

Sometimes the gaskets from a new unit is slightly large, so one that
comes of the old is preferred.
Any rubber product tends to shrink, so we force a larger into the
retainer and carefully assemble it.

Go buy a Fram filter. The only part usable on a Fram filter is the rubber gasket. Use it to mount the cooler adapter and throw the rest of the filter away.
