Hi Bob,
I have had a chance to work with the original GMC type and several of the copies. For whatever reason, the original works really well, the copies suffer in one way or another. I am not comfortable using the open frame designs when I am under a coach so do not recommend them. I have no scientific evidence that they are any less capable for our application, but I know the original will work so that is what I use.
