Since I found out my Onan battery in my 73 was tied into the 12v buss I just disconnected it so it is wired normally. Now my Onan charges the battery and the alt doesn't. I understand that is how is was designed in the 73. However I did wire a very small (but really nicely constructed) 12v solar panel to the door panel of my outside electrical wiring door. I thought it would help since I sometimes forget to start my Onan up, and hope to keep the charge a little topped off. Anyone else do that? It will never be optimized for the perfect charge, but in AZ I thought it would be better then nothing.
