Rob, a typical New Jersey native. You can take Rob out of NJ, even send
him to another continent - but you can't take the NJ out of Rob! lol!

Steve,
This link pretty much covers the description.
http://www.aussie-info.com/identity/fauna/koala.php
I have my 6 year old grandson staying for with us for a couple of days and I
said to him ' Koalas are not bears right' and his reply was 'No they are
Koala otherwise they would be called Kabeara' What can you say kids always
have an answer even if it is not technically right.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Stick,
Correct Downunder they are possums: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Possum
Which evidently are different from Upover where they are called Opossums! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opossum
The ones here are cute like their local rello's (relatives) the Koala. They have cute faces and bushy tails.
We had one living in a neighbor's tree awhile back. One afternoon he wound up on our guest back bedroom balcony looking down on our
two cats while they looked up at him (her?); it was a Mexican standoff.
I'm probably going to get into trouble for saying this but the ones over there look like big rats with pointy faces and long skinny
tails!
However, the babies found in Marsha's coach were cute.
Regards,
Rob M.

Rob, when we were traveling in Australia, we kept seeing your possums dead
on the road. We saw so many that I thought someone should be making
jackets from their pelts. Finally found a possum jacket in a specialty
shop in some small town.
