Thanks for the replies. I am trying to move my rear toilet over about 18"
toward the passenger side.

Rain stopped so I crawled under the frame, I see the "bracing" that is in
the way of simply installing a wider black water tank, I had originally
thought that the bracing was part of a trailer hitch.

It does appear that there is room for "triangle" shaped extension to the
black tank that would be right under where I want to put the toilet.

Who can you recommend to make me a custom shaped black water tank if I
provide them drawings?

I googled "12v macerator toilet" and came up with Johnson Pump 80-47435-01
Standard Electric Compact Macerator Style for under $300.00. Since I am
planning to replace my 1990 Aqua Magic, installation of this would be easier
than the custom black water tank.

Does anyone have experience with this toilet? I had thought macerator
toilets were much more costly than that? Or am I missing something
fundamental? Thanks again, Skip

Systems in Precision in Phoenix Az. He has a lot of experience making waste tanks for trailers, and made my fresh water tank to fit perfectly. Ask for Chris (Not me) 623-742-0374.

JimB installed a macerator toilet in one or both of the Duramax upgrade coaches. I read it had something to do with frame and tank location.

One of the advantages of the macerator toilet is that the stool location doesn't have to dictate the black tank location.

For example: My rear bath Birchaven has black tank in the rear, under the stool. Due to the obstructions in that area the tank is very small... maybe 10 gallons. The gray tank is in the space most GMC's have the combined waste tank. Even though the gray tank is smaller than the available space, I have never had it full from "normal" use. We have often filled the black tank to the point of "dump site hunting." (Now much easier after my macerator install.) It would be nice to have the larger tank as the black tank, regardless of tank location. I have purchased a side bath Birch where the black tank IS the larger front tanks.

There are also some "dry camping" water saving modifications and techniques that would work MUCH better with the larger tank being the black tank. (But these "modifications and techniques" really should be in a different thread.)

One of the disadvantages of the macerator toilet is that you have something else to break. Rolling Eyes

One thing you definitely want to make sure of is that the toilet dumps directly into the tank. Most who have tried plumbing the toilet to the tank with piping have not had good results. Now an actual mascerator toilet may obviate that.

Hi Mike:

We have a marine head in our 76 Royale Rear Bath and we love it. It enabled
us to put a larger (19 gal) black tank 15 inches farther forward and stop
dragging our bottom so much.

We discovered that many Marine Heads use gravity flow or their own inlet
pump for water supply. We located one, that accepted a pressurized water
input, at West Marine. Jim Kanomata and Nick did a great job of installing
the new setup for us. We also have a separate macerator dumping pump. The
head (toilet) unit was over $700 five years ago.
