I have a rear dry bath 23'. I would like to convert to a wet bath about
32" wide where the tub is now located. I can visualize everything except
how to move the toilet connection. Do I need to get a different black tank?
Or what? Thanks, Skip Simpson

On most of the GMC coaches that I have encountered, the Toilet is connected
directly to a threaded flange that enters the Black tank. If the tank is in
good shape, and IF YOU CAN FIND SOMEONE willing to do it, another
penetration could be done that aligns with the new location. I personally
will not. I would order a new black tank with the appropriate fittings
where I wanted them to be. That is just my phobia about working on a crappy
old brittle piece of plastic that is probably beyond it's intended service
life. Sometimes you can invest a huge amount of labor into a piece of stuff
that is no good to start with and does not improve no matter how much $$$$$
you throw at it. JWIWD.

Skip,
Looking at diagrams of 23' rear bath coaches it looks like your proposed toilet location would be well behind the black tank. This would pretty much rule out a direct connection. There were some coaches with a second black tank behind the original but I don't know if you could find one to fit a 23. You might elevate the toilet and run the pipe forward above the floor and down into the present tank (Which would be hard to seal in a wet bath). You might also try a marine toilet with built in macerator that would pump the waste to the present tank through a small hose that could be routed most any way you wanted.

Skip,

From my experiences and knowledge of my 23' rear bath, I think that's going
to be problematic. Even plumbing the drain for the tub is not easy because
the frame, including the diagonal rear braces, run right beneath it. Add
the fact the that original black tank is directly under the original toilet
and does not extend any where near the location you want the toilet, you'll
definitely need a new, wider, probably oddly-shaped, tank.

A LOT of trouble, IMHO,

It would be hard to put the toilet farther to the rear of the black tank on a rear bath coach. The black tank is almost bumped up against the back bumper! Mine is anyway...

My 23 foot rear bath Birch has a SMALL square black tank centered just ahead of the toilet location. (If the curtains are open, you "moon" out the middle of the rear window when getting up from the stool.)

I suspect that Skip wants to place the the toilet in the passenger side front corner of the bath space. (Towards the front of the coach.) Due to the shape of the frame and routing of the exhaust pipe, this space does NOT have a waste tank directly under it. Maybe an odd shaped black tank or the marine macerating toilet would make this location "work."
