I may have missed it but has anyone warned you not to port on the sheet metal reservoir on the power steering pump.

The belt has almost an inch of play - guess that must be a little too much?
I can see a single nut there in the gap between the wheel? And the power steering frame, do you loosen that with a wrench (or take it off?) and somehow pry it tighter?

Squealing and starting to smell a little but from what I can see it's just the belt slipping and the alt belt must have been helping it out! Hopefully it won't damage it for me to use for 10 miles?

JP,

TYPO

Dan meant "not to PUSH on the sheet metal reservoir of the power steering pump."

It is easily damaged.

Rob
