Has anybody got any ideas on removing the sun-visor attachment? It appears to be last thing holding the head-iiner in place.

I understand that the screws that hold the sun visors are secured by a well-nut-kind-of-thing that can loose its grip and spin with the screw, such that basically you are screwed if you are trying to remove it. I think that some have tried to pin the well-nut-kind-of-thing with a diagonal screw or something so that they can get the attachment screw out.

But this is just my understanding, having only done this on a 1978 Chevy Caprice many, many years ago.

Hi Peter

That nut is very hard to remove. There is a strong spring inside pressing down on it. The way that I have used to take it down is

1. drop the visor down, put a wrench on the nut and then turn the wrench and the visor at the same time.
2. while holding the wrench still, rotate the visor back. Move the wrench back parallel with the visor.
3. repeat steps 1 and 2 until the nut and visor comes loose.

The visor has a lot of very fine threads and seems like it will never come
out.
