Well, I pulled the 4D out of the compartment behind the Onan.

While I wouldn't want to do this very often, it was manageable.

I put it on my fairly small capacity "pulse" charger and battery
voltage was so low, the charger wouldn't even switch on!

I hooked up a larger charger capable of 10A and after a few
minutes on that one, there was enough on the battery that the
pulse charger took hold.

The pulser has now been on for around 36 hours. I can hear a
slight amount of bubbling from the battery. When I first got
the pulser operating, the battery voltage was about 13.2 V.
That is now down to just under 13.0. I suspect that individual
cell voltage may be equalizing but it may be a hopeless case
for restoration.

Anyway, nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Tomorrow, I think I'll look for batteries other than those that
I found at Sam's. Those have the BOLT connectors common to RV
and marine use, rather than the large POST connectors with lots
of surface area at the connection point. I'm trying to justify
the cost of the stainless sliding tray and shipping charge to
myself at this point. I also need to check into availability of
appropriate cables for building the series string of golf cart
batteries.

Oh! I also got the 1/2" drive air impact wrench today at
Northern Tool for $90 plus tax. I'll get the 18V battery version
tomorrow for $110 instead of the regular $160 price with the
sale price of $130 and my $20 coupon!
