You will need to completely plate and reinforce the existing cap for it to have any kind of structural integrity to hold itself together just to have it be able to support itself on lift springs and close with any kind of decent seal to the body. I would plate the whole interior face with aluminum and fill all the voids between with structural foam or build new panel out of aluminum sheet and ribbing. I've had mine off(currently is off) and it is a fragile part. The opening will have to be reinforced as well as the rear cap is somewhat responsible for keeping the living tube square.

anyone know who made car haulers or info on back hatch setups.
