Carl,
There is a picture of passenger seat in the thread about TV mounts.
Do you know the origin of the seats in your coach? The seat looks similar to ones that I have from a Chrysler van. I am having a difficult time figuring out how to mount them in my coach.
If yours are Chrysler van seats can you post some pictures of the seat mounts?
The stock brackets set the seat way too high off the Gmc seat base.
Thanks,

Gene,
I was told that the seats were from a Dodge Caravan. They were installed by the P.O. (Bruce Tara). I will try to get pictures of the mounts, although I'm not sure I can get a good enough angle to show anything useful. The seats are mounted to the factory pedestals on a piece of 1/4" or 3/16" steel plate, with a 1/2" plywood spacer on top of it. IIRC the slides are mounted right to that plate/plywood piece. I'll try to get some pics as soon as I have a chance. It may not be until next week. I still have a lot to do to get ready for my annual Thanksgiving weekend sand dune trip, including installing a Trimetric battery meter.

Here are a couple of pics of the seat mounts:

Hope this helps. If not, I can take the plastic trim off and take more pics next week.

Carl,
Thanks for the pictures. That helps a lot and gives me a better and simpler idea of how to mount my seats.
It appears that the plywood is bolted to the top of the sliding brackets and to the bottom of a flat metal plate that is some how attached to the bottom of the seat, but I can't tell how the metal plate is affixed to the seat. Is it bolted to a round tube that is part of the frame and crosses under the seat from side to side near the rear of the seat bottom?
My seats have a lot more metal bracketry welded to the bottom of the seat frame than yours. The brackets will have to be removed before the seat can be mounted onto the gmc seat base.
Is it appearent that any brackets were cut off the bottom of your seats?
If you find time after your Thanksgiving trip perhaps more pictures would be helpful.
If you see another GMC out in the sand over Thanksgiving say hi to Miguel Mendez of MGMGMC. Last I talked to him he was planning to take his Royale and sand buggy to Glamis for the weekend.
Have a fun and safe trip.

Gene,
I can't answer your questions right now, but I will try to address them after I get home on Monday. I'm not sure why the plywood is there. I think it is to provide a recess for the bolt heads as they are countersunk into it.
I doubt that I will see Miguel. We camp on the other side of the dunes from Glamis, at Ogilby. It is about 30 - 40 miles across the sand to where he will be. Last year we drove the Jeeps over there and my son's Jeepster broke a leaf spring about two miles from Gecko Road. My other son and I drove back to our camp, on the other side of the dunes where I picked up the truck and trailer to go retrieve him and the Jeepster. It was about a 150 mile round trip on the roads. Big country out there.

Gene--I installed my Caravan seats to the original GMC mounts. Many of the Caravan seats are almost identical to the Honda seats since they are both made by Johnson controls.

Here is how to get the Leather Honda seats apart. The photo order is screwed up, but you can probably follow it.'
