All this talk of replacing the front end and aligning for maximum caster has me thinking about ride height. I really like the look of my coach when the belt line looks level, however this would have the back end too high up.
With increased caster is there any reason not to run the coach where it is prettiest?
I seem to remember that the ride height changes the weight on each axle, and with our minimal amount of caster raising the back end just contributes to wander. A stouter front end and increased caster should mean that we can give the coach a butt lift.

The benefits of proper ride height are felt at highway speeds, mostly in stability. For around town, there are benefits (besides looks) to having the rear a bit higher... it less likely to drag and has quicker steering.

If your air system works, try this: When pulling off the highway, put in in raise and count slowly the required time to get the height you like. Then go to hold. When going back to the highway, put it in travel.

The best of both worlds.

I cannot think of any reason why your suggestion wouldn't work. The
addition of the one ton front end and additional caster eliminate the
built-in weakness of the OEM front end. Go for it.

Larry, what Mike M said. You will get used to the looks or just raise the thing before you head outside. I run my high around town and at specified level on the road, with the new one ton frontend.
