Yesterday a GMCer came by to install a one ton front end.
I've been known to help install in one day but this time.
We couldn't get the torsion bars to slide out of the arms.
Apparently he had twenty sets made fifteen years ago.
The torsion bards are the same length as the GMCs.
The hex parts fit in the arms snugly.
The shaft diameter is thicker than original.
He claims they are twenty five percent stronger.
I ended up cuting the tips off the arms with the torsion bar attached.
I also took the arms to the welder and weld the brackets with the
torsion bars attached.
My point to this is that he sold most of the torsion bars to one
person in Oregon but he doesn't remember who.
If anyone has any information on these torsion arms.
I'm wondering if they were used in Buskirck stretches.
They are powder coated white.

Another great example of how our vendors continue to improve our GMC's.
The One Ton V-II, is a life saving - bolt on, - improvement for our GMC's.
The work Manny does improving this Hubler design, is just awesome.
Because of his work, by actual practice, to continue to improve this kit,
there is no end in sight for the future of the GMC MOTORHOME.

Manny,
I checked under my Buskirk Stretch and they are not white in color as
far as I can tell. I was told by the Buskirk ex shop manager that
they used the bars from the Revcon coaches as they were similar in
length and hex but were stronger.

Thanks for the reply.
I heard that too.
Nineteen sets were sold right away. when he tried to get another batch
going, the price had done up to more than double.
He sold the sets for what he paid $375.00 ea. The next batch they
wanted $800.00 per set so he didn't pursue it.
I wonder if they were all installed.
