Over 60 were built and Jim K sold most, around 50.
Miguel and Jim B gave them away with paint jobs.
I sell them for $130.00 and when the last ones were built I decided to stop.
Mine were made from aluminum, and were powder coated. they are very
strong and similar to the OEM grills.
I bought enough material to build another batch but it sits and the
material is cut but not bent.
Once I bend the material, it will take alot more space that I don't have.

Those grilles do look hell-for-stout compared to the oe plastic. I have two grilles. One is brand new supplied by the po and never installed and another used one in decent shape from parts coach. With all of the talk I've seen on added deflectors behind the grille to direct more air through the rad and condenser I've been thinking of a grill which incorporates the deflectors into the grill itself and only having a perimeter grill like a 70 1/2 camaro split bumper with a bug screen might look cool. Not sure the buick like grille really does much for the coach looks

You mean like this? <http://www.kcclassiccars.com/inventoryDetail.do?id=39>
I think this Camero, the GMC and the early Vega all came from the same design school.
As for your grille, I have been thinking along the same lines. Using the outer shell as a funnel to 'close' to a "upper radiator shape" with a scoop or two on each side for engine intake and fresh "ram air" cabin vents. This would be a one piece molded fiberglass piece. I would include places to mount hardware cloth or large gauge screen across the opening 4 or 5 inches inside the "funnel."
As this would be a very large "black hole" in the front of the coach... MAYBE I would put a large "GMC" in the center... if so, I like the style of the emblems from the early 60's.
