I was just reading about the several fires that have occurred in Chevrolet Volts after crashes or crash tests, and in one test, three weeks later.

But, I don't really care about that.

I just want that 300volt, 50+Ah battery. That could be a 1200Ah house bank. Or, with the right electronics package, how about the only DC left on board is the chassis battery. 16KWhr will go a long ways. So what if it weighs in at 400 pounds, since I can take out both the APU and the current house bank. The only big problem will be getting enough 12V to run the existing fans and stuff. I hate to think of the size of the heatsink that switching supply is going to need.

Just another foolish dream.

Matt
