Looks like I get to replace the exhaust manifold gaskets as both are leaking
along the top edge of the manifolds. Engine was rebuilt by PO about 9K miles
ago, so hopefully it's not too horrible getting the bolts out... Maybe I'll even
luck out and be able to just re-torque (nah, that never happens...)
So what's the current wisdom on gaskets? Solid copper, Permatex, and/or Remflex?
I didn't find reference to Remflex in Gene's excellent website, but have
seen it mentioned here on the forum.
Looks like Dave Lenzi's copper gaskets come as a pair for around $60.
Are the remflex sold singly, or in pairs? Can't tell from the pictures if that's one
gasket or two in the package. It's about $30/per package, so if I have to buy two,
it's a wash vs copper price-wise.
thanks,
Karen
