I have a properly functioning el1 system on my 77 royale but my bags are crusty and cracking and I do not trust them. I just ordered two of the bags Mark G discovered and posted. The bags cost $138 each on line and the mounting plate construction looks very simple. Marks set up appears to me to be the most similar to the oem (southland bag may not offer same range of adjustment) while also being the least expensive I have seen

We have had a lot of discussion about new style air bag systems; but there seem to be a lot of owners, including some long time GMC owners, (some who are on the GMCnet) who are staying with the OEM system.

Since there are a limited number of new OEM bags available (high price and that inventory will eventually end), would any of you offer your thoughts and plans? ie, stay with the OEM system until my current bags are ready for replacement, have spares and plan to stay OEM forever, waiting for the next development in air bag replacements, would like a new system but not in the budget,

Look forward to your comments.

Thanks,
Dennis

We have been playing with few of the single style bags that seem to
give the max height.
we found that Mark G's unit raised and lowered to maximum along with
our updated Silverton bag.
The Southland did not , along with one using one of the bag similar to
the one we employ on the Q bag.

Quadra Bag is definitely not another bag replacement.
First, it is lot more money.
Secondly, it was designed to overcome the rear sway and handling.
