JimK has dropped the price on Eagle wheels by 15% for the next 72 hours. Price with chrome nuts is now $186.95 and with Stainless Steel nuts $220.15. Price is for EACH wheel. Prices have been lowered on the website.

The regular price is $219.95 for chrome and $259 for Stainless Steel.

Here is your chance to get a one time only low price on a group buy - without forming the group!

www.appliedgmc.com

Price ends Saturday 10/29/2011 Noon, Pacific time.

Dumb question:

What's the difference between chrome vs stainless?
(I know 'bout $34. bucks but) Any difference in looks, utility or whatever?

The chrome hubcaps and lug nuts are light chrome plate from China. Shoot for the extra bucks for the stainless. I did and I'm glad I did.
I'm at JimB's.

Jim asks "What's the difference between chrome vs stainless?

Depends on whether you like the look of rusty lug nuts or not!

Bought the chrome initially before Jim was offering the stainless and within a few days rust started showing around the edges of the lugnuts and washers. Painstakingly cleaned each nut and washer a couple of times over a 2 year period but rust kept coming back.

I replaced my chrome lug nuts with the stainless when offered a deal by Jim K and haven't looked back. Been about 3 months now and still no rust showing.

Wish I could get some stainless nuts for my Alcoas. Chrome is a real pain in the butt.

I did not and wish I did.

For me the rust seems to coming from the washers, not the nuts. I looked for stainless washers and found they are expensive.... about 60% as much as JimK charges for stainless washers, nuts AND center caps. (Note that I did not use the "cheap" caps.)

If I didn't have something else in the works, it would be a no-brainer.

Bottom line, spring for the stainless unless your coach is in a climate controlled storage and never used! (But if you can afford to do that, you can afford stainless anyway!)

The stainless hub caps are made in China.
But they are a good quality.

David,

In general the SS products out of China ARE good! Back in 2002 when I retired to Australia I bought a Grand Hall SS BBQ from Sam's
club. I think it cost $700 or so. When people came over for a BBQ back then they thought I was rich as back then SS BBQ's made in
Australia were about $4-5 GRAND!

They're now importing Grand Hall BBQ's here and the price is in the hundreds.

Rob M.

Stainless steel nuts?!?!?!?

Boy, I don't check in for a while and important stuff happens. I bought the
wheels from Jim before the caps were available in stainless, and paid extra
to replace them with the stainless caps that Jim had made later when the
original chrome caps rusted in a matter of weeks.

Now, I see that he is offering stainless nuts, but only with the caps. I'll
have to call him, I guess. Has there been any issue with galling? I'm always
a little leery of stainless fasteners in applications requiring high
tightening torque. I would, of course, use liberal amounts of anti-seize
lubricant in spite of what I think is misguided advice from some
manufacturers to install them dry. Broken lugs are a royal pain to replace.

Jim is selling the stainless steel nuts but they ain't cheap (not his fault). I forgot how much but when you multiply the price times 50 nuts it is good chunk of change.

Rick,
Sorry that we did a poor job of notifying people about the SS lug nuts.
Call me and I'll make you a deal, as I cannot have you showing people
your rusty nuts.

When I got my Eagle wheels I also got SS washers and lug nuts. The washers started rusting within a week. I checked them with a magnet and the nuts had no attraction with the magnet but the washers were picked up like regular steel. That was several months ago and I am still waiting for replacements. I wish I had checked them before I put them on.

I presume you contacted us?
Let me know now so I can get them out to you n/c Monday.
Like anything else, if it is not right, call and please make sure we

We are not a hobby shop, so you should demand a prompt reaction.
I have misplaced more orders here than anyone , so I always ask for
help when issues are not resolved promptly or not to your

I will have our people check and make sure that the SS nuts are sent

lose track of GMCnet (again). I'll give you a holler at some point when I'm

Rick,
The fact that the stud has been broken in and the nuts have such long
threads length will prevent galling.
Using some anti seize helps too.
We have tons of wheels and I do not need that many during the winter month.
