It works, i have about six participants. There might still be a few bugs and I'm asure once it gets fully populated someone will find a more elegant way of doing it.
It uses a google phone number to forward text to email and back to text.
The phone number and the email address I use are exclusively for this purpose. If we never post any of the addresses on any web page it should remain pretty secure. (I did post the email but I have since edited the message)
Send your cell number and/or email address to me via email or PM and I will add it to the list.
I'll hold off testing it again until Friday so as not to irritate people with repeated test messages.
There's no cost involved and the concept could be a pplied to other things, like a specific rally or a GMC club.
Questions? COmments?

It's gonna take a lot of Adderall to get this thing right.

Dave:
I belong to a lot of lists, and there are a few that go right to the top of my "inbox".
The GMC Rescue list will be one of them.
The ability to send an email or text and have it targeted to the right people is important.
Yeah, I know that folks that are hundreds of miles away might not think getting a message about someone stranded in New Mexico is useful, but you those "six degrees of separation" can work to everyones advantage.
The inconvenience is minor compared to the good that can be done.
I think your GMCRescue list is a good idea, and won't take a lot of additional "bandwidth" from any of the blacklist members.
I think it's worth a try, and can be a very effective tool.
Thanks for the time and effort to set it up. I'm in.
I don't know which coach said "you make 100% of the shots you don't take". This is one of those experiments that can't possibly fail, because we will all learn something from it.
