While in Goshen Cat went to an interior design seminar. Well it seems that interior design has a totaly different meaning for girls than guys. Seminar covered wall and sub floors and insulation and important structural stuff like that. Seems they are interested in curtains and wall covering and pillows and such, So with the help of Sandra Price prodding Cat I finally concede to do something easy and simple to help the interior of our Crestmont. Lets do curtains. She asked "what do you like", I says "I like the factory ones in the Avion parts coach and Rob said I could have them". No problem, just remove the curtains and rods from the Avion, clean and repair curtains, cut and match upper and lower curtain brackets, put them in the Crestmont...... After 7 days from 8:30 to 10:30 of long, back breaking contorsionism mounting brackets thru holes drilled in the back of the cabinets, using one clutch-head screwdriver on about 100 screws and 1/2 of them hidden behind cabinets, We have new curtains. I like the outcome since I do like the vinyl lined curtains, the color, the tightness against the wall and edges, and I really like the way they pack up for travel. They open the coach up and make it seem even more roomier open or closed.

Thank you sir: The AC vents are factory 76 & 75, second generation AC. Dash vents only blow on AC, lower vents blow only on Recurculate. Not the best as the third generation 77-78, but better than the first generation 73-74.

Chuck,
They sure do look nice.
I am amazed that Cathy was able to wash them and they didn't fall apart.
I was more than happy to give you the curtains considering your generosity to me and the GMC community in general.
You and Cathy deserved them and more!

Rob M.

The curtains look great, no question!
I particularily liked the 'spy cam' of the inside of your building...I see

Congratulations, Chuck. The curtains look nice. I didn't know I could have
that impact on anyone. Cat, I hope both of you will enjoy the new look and
improved privacy. Look forward to seeing it in person in Shawnee in March
2012.

We recently replaced our curtains which were original in our Palm Beach. We didn't like the blind option so we decided to go back with curtains. We took down the old curtains and used these as a pattern to make ours and powder coated the old rods, which were rusted.
We decided to use indoor outdoor fabric because it is easy to clean and holds up to the sun and moisture. We called Sunbrella ( http://www.sunbrella.com/)and they provided us with free unlimited samples, which they also sent to us free. We choose the Dupoine Pearl for our curtains which looks great with the original interior. Sunbrella doesn't sell their fabric directly, so we purchased it through Outdoorfabrics.com (http://www.outdoorfabrics.com/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=542). We got a great deal. We originally found this fabric at a retail store for $75 per yard, but got it through this company for about $17 per yard.

H-gal,
Did you find the sunbrella material stiff? We wondered about how well new curtains would hang.

You might look for the same material that is used for ironing board covers as your liner fabric. Marilyn used it for our coach, and it really cuts down on the amount of light and heat that enters from the windows. You need a bigger fabric store to find this stuff.

harborgal wrote on Mon, 14 November 2011 19:28 | I originally thought the fabric texture might be a little too stiff as well; however, after receiving the samples it changed my mind. Sunbrella has a wide range of materials and textures. The one we choose works great for the curtains. The only thing we would do differently is not having as many pleats in the curtains. Note: We put a lining on them, because we were a little worried that they would be see through. No issues with the finished product.
You need 26 yards for fabric for the curtains. We ordered 30 to be on the save side, just incase the lady who made our curtains made a mistake. Sorry I couldn't sew to save my life.
Also we used velcro for our closures and keep the original track in the drivers area. I will try to take some pictures this weekend and send them if you are interested.

Point of information for anyone needing fabric for interior work on their
Coach. Try Newtoto.com they have thousands of fabrics suitable for uses
such as this and will send free samples on request. WE used them when
selecting interior fabrics for our 26' 78 side dry bath Royale with gaucho
twins and hanging bunks. Were able to purchase a whole roll of 54" fabric.
Prices are very reasonable. JWWD.

Gary, are you serious about tuck & roll? Google Surefit Supply & see what
you can find. The foam backed pre-stitched material is still available, or
it can be custom stitched for specific application$$.
