G'day,

Camping world has these chairs on sale.

http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/index.cfm?skunum=42651&affiliateid=3931&CWID=3372805&rewrote

We have a couple of earlier models we got from Sam's Club. They are very easy to get out of.

Regards,
Rob M.

Rob, where do you carry those chairs? They seem pretty big even when folded up.

Armand.

The following is a clear demonstration that a picture is worth a thousand words! ;-)

The Avion has the "old style" wooden dinette. I put two small cup hooks on the back side that is on the right as you enter the GMC.

As you can see the back of the dinette is "recessed" a bit from the right side of the door and both chairs can fit in there.

http://www.bdub.net/publications/Avion2/avion-int-263.htm

The first chair goes up against the back of the dinette with the back support of the chairs towards the door.

The second chair goes next to it further into the coach.

Both chairs are held in place with small bungee cords wrapped around the tubing at the end of the armrests where it turns downward.

Since they are up against the back of the dinette they can't go anywhere when you hit the brakes, and I don't accelerate fast enough
to have them move.

Here's a link to the Harbor Freight bungee cords, they're the small black ones in the middle of the picture.

http://www.harborfreight.com/23-piece-elastic-tie-downs-46736.html

One comment, the wood work in Double Trouble is still in a pretty rough state and I'm not concerned with the chairs messing it up.
After I refinish it I WILL figger out a way to keep them from damaging the newly refinished surface.

The reason I mentioned this is because I have seen pictures of the interior of your GMC and it's gorgeous! I damn sure I wouldn't
want some chairs scratching it up!

Regards,
Rob M.

Unless you really like the look of wood, I'd put some Olefin on the back
side of the dinette or some vinyl with a slight bit of padding. You can't
scratch either and your chairs wouldn't be offended.

By the way, the getting out easy part -- does that involve leaning forward
and falling on your face?

Seriously, the bad thing about those comfy chairs that make you lean back a
fer piece is that you have to be at your peak of condition to get outŠor
else have a younger wife handy that doesn't mind pulling.

Byron,

She who must be obeyed would definitely react negatively to covering the back of her nice wooden dinette! ;-)

I'll probably just wrap pieces of pipe insulation around the tubes where they might contact the back of the dinette.

I try not to consume copious amounts of alcohol which would cause me to leave the chair un-gracefully!

These chairs are easy to get out of because you can put your hands on the armrests and push at the same time you lift your butt with
your legs.

I hate those floppy fold up chairs with the floppy arms cause they are so low to the ground I have a hell of a time haulin' my fat
butt out of them with my legs alone. Now those chairs you can wind up smooching with the ground in front of you when you try to get
up!

Regards,
Rob

This is the one you want. It is called the rEevolve. A friend of mine invented it. It is comfortable and works great. Camping world was the first to carry it, they are running another batch.

This is one of those times when a regular guy just tinkered until he got it to work.

I saw at Menards, and I am sure it is sold else where, a carpet from the roll that is very lightweight and can be sewn or glued to make a pocket that the chair can fit into which would protect the wood work from the chair. Its not that bad a job and the carpet was really cheap. ( err, price wise, I consider the carpet good quality as it is automotive quality )

The carpet is non loop style and very thin, perfect for this use.

My thought

Rob, my PO took out the dinette and added a couple chairs that can be removed, a type of hawian Wicker, lol I call it.
They found a table that the legs go together in an "X" and the table top fits on top. It all disassembles to a flat package.

He decided to use the pip insulation to keep from scratching the walls. If you go this route, you will need some of those baby bungies to wrap and secure them or they fall off, ALL THE TIME! More a nuisance than a remedy. I did mention a carpet that can be used to make pockets to cover the chair but I also saw a black light duty moving pad from Harbor Freight, real cheap and not bad looking, made for the purpose. Might look into that as well.

What I've seen
