From Dan Gregg I got a couple of LED conversion modules that fit in our original fixtures. Lumens equal an 1156 lamp. Leds have a double sided thermal tape on them. They happen fit right in the groove of our original fixtures and use it as a heat sink. Pics

Wally, Dan,

My 73 coach has three bulbs in each bathroom fixture and my fixture has a round depression backing up each bulb. Do you replace each bulb with an led?

Dennis, I swapped one bulb in each three bulb fixture for now. The fixtures on ours have a v shaped reflector with a flat which the LED module fits right in. LED's come with an aluminum heat sink 3 by 3 1/2" which I didn't need. Darn I thought the fixtures would be the same.

Dennis, a couple of these will light up a wet bath. Some use a couple of them when dry camping and don't turn the bulbs on. Use the bulbs when plugged in. Its just up to the one paying for them. These are pretty bright, 220 lumen.

Wally, Dan,

Here is a photo of my original bath light fixture, Progressive Dynamics PD101055.

If I converted this would I want to use the heat sink material?
What is the purpose?

No Dennis. It will stick right in there, as long as it is metal. The light Wally shows is a high powered one with a voltage regulator that needs a heat sink. If not, it will go off every 5 minutes, when it heats up, stay off til it cools. The thing will handle 30 plus volts.
I have smaller ones that require no heat sink.

I used the LEDs from Prudent RVer, that Dan sells, in the center bulb locations on both bathroom fixtures. I used three 3-LED strips in one and (because I had an extra one) four in the other. Probably overkill, but it lights the bathroom very brightly. I almost never flip the switch to the second position to light the incandescent bulbs in the top and bottom positions.

Good pictures Carl. It takes 4 of those to equal one that Wally has. I use a mixture of both in our coach, along with the fluorescent replacements.
Will show them off tomorrow at the car show I am taking the GMC and Bug to. Teri made me some nice posters bragging on the GMC and upgrades.

Print out some "GMCers Brochures" to give out. Byron Songer created them just for this and they can be found here:

JimK printed out a bunch (with generic "MY GMC" information) and we gave them out at the TI air show. (Big hit on Sunday.)
