I had a problem with our 76 glenbrook not running right. The coach was experiencing symptoms of vapor lock several months ago and I rebuilt the carb at that time.

When I disassembled the carb, I found that both of the large tubes ( either the bleed tubes or the accelerating tubes, I don't know which is which ) that are supposed to be pressed into the airhorn were laying in the carb and not connected to the airhorn.

I installed the carb and the coach ran great. Until last week. It started showing the same hesitation as before. Disassembled it again and found that one of the tubes had fallen out and the other one was loose enough to remove with my fingers. Evidently, I didn't use enough force to press in the first time ( for fear of bending the tubes).

This time I used a little more force and now they seem to be set in the air horn firmly. I used the handle from a tap set to grip the tube and tapped it firmly with a hammer. Seemed to work well.

Now my questions are: Which tube is which? And what do they do?

BTW, these symptom were just like vapor lock, engine would quit when hot, pull off the road and start right back up and run fine, get out on hot pavement and try to accelerate, engine would die and repeat above symptoms.
