Ideally, I believe you should have an automatic extinguisher (either Halon or foam) in the engine compartment, generator compartment, and behind the fridge if it is a propane fired one.
In addition, a handy extinguisher inside the coach by the exit door would give you the best protection possible. Of course, this is in addition to a propane, CO, and smoke detector.
Looking at the whole picture, this is really cheap insurance that could be life-saving.
