We have read about an extinguisher that mounts in the engine compartment and
will automatically expel if a fire should erupt in the
area.

If this is true does anyone know who sells them?

That thing will eliminate a lot of fear while you are traveling down the road. The Onan and refer ones are also good to have mounted.

Ideally, I believe you should have an automatic extinguisher (either Halon or foam) in the engine compartment, generator compartment, and behind the fridge if it is a propane fired one.

In addition, a handy extinguisher inside the coach by the exit door would give you the best protection possible. Of course, this is in addition to a propane, CO, and smoke detector.

Looking at the whole picture, this is really cheap insurance that could be life-saving.

George, I have a halon handheld right by the door.
I hope Mr. Bounds can get the company back on track soon. Having the system sure takes a load off my mind as we travel.

I would guess that insurance companies would give a discount if you had these automatic systems, I've never asked but they did on my boat.
