Dave,
It's your choice - you can certainly replace all that stuff it you want, but the fact that the coil was hot says that the system was still conducting electricity and is therefore still good. As Dave said, if the points had been open it wouldn't have conducted anything and would still be good. If it had been overheated there would be signs of oil leakage from the coil (it's oil filled). Sure, the points had been conducting electricity, but the resistance of the points when closed is nil, so there should be no damage (points deteriorate from the tiny arc that occurs every time they open, not the case here). The "condenser" is a simple capacitor that conducts no electricity, so it won't be damaged. The resistance wire that feeds it all could have overheated and burned open, but since the coil was hot it was also still good. I think you are good to go, but if you have a hankering to replace things, it won't hurt anything. I wouldn't give it a
thought. If the coil were cool and the points had been closed something would have burned open, but that isn't the case either, as you said the coil was hot (a good sign!).

Dave, if the coil was hot, and you had points type ignition, you can assume
that the points and condensor are fried as the points were closed and the
circuit was complete. If the coil was cool. then the points were probably
open, and so was the primary circuit. Take the cap off and look at the
points. If they are burned, they are inexpensive. Just replace them and set
the ignition like the book says.
