Jim.
Armand said earlier that he had an inch and a half play in the Brake Pedal .
It' shard to believe the Rod could expand over an inch and a half at normal
Temperatures.
Armand,
I bought, my Brake kit, from Applied GMC the first of this Year
Armand, your MC pushrod is too long. If you have the adjustable one, shorten
it a turn. Be certain when no pressure is on the pedal that the MC piston is
against the retaining ring. This condition keeps the "bleed back" orfices in
the resevoirs closed and that is what causes the hard pedal.

Paul, The free pedal on the interior of the coach sometimes is a product of
worn parts in the interior of the coach. I concur that 1 and 1/2 inches
should be sufficient, perhaps excessive. The short operating rod from the
forward side of the booster to the MC is where I was speaking about. Because
of the differences in boosters, rods, MCs linkages, that end play clearance
is quite critical, and frequently all over the map on many of the coaches
that I have worked on. All it takes to check is to take off the MC mounting
nuts, pull the MC forward without disconnecting the brake lines, place
modeling clay in the end of the MC and reassemble. Disassemble after placing
the clay and carefully check to see how much clay is left uncompressed or
displaced. If there is the amount that the MM says, then adjustment is not
the problem. I suspect that it is too little. One of our GMC Cascaders had a
similar problem when the brakes were hot. The MC would not release pressure
until it cooled off. After subsequent shortening of the rod, no further
problems occurred in this area.
