G'day,

I just wanted to let everyone know that the memorial services at Ground Zero in NYC are being broadcast live here in Australia over
two networks!

Very moving!

The ceremonies in Shanksville, PA were also on the news.

Regards,
Rob M.

On the phone, at work, with someone in the south tower when it was hit. Phone went dead, found out later the person I was talking to didn't make it.

Had just dropped off my granddaughter at highschool, heard one of the first
reports and thought, "The World Trade Center, that's in New York, I
think..."

I was working the Southern Governor's Conference which was going on in
Lexington, KY.

A close friend of mine was later sent to New York to work as a chaplain at
the temporary office of the coroner on behalf of the Red Cross.

Of course, we all remember where we were and what we were doing.

Today, at Goshen, we took time to reflect on the events of that day and
the situation surrounding us today.

God cannot bless America when many of it's citizens ignore Him on a
day-to-day basis.

My daughter and I were in a motel room in St. George, Utah. We were headed back to Los Vegas later that day. We woke up and for some reason turned on the TV to check the days weather. We instead were greeted by live pictures of the fire in the first tower.

The rest of it is well documented history after that. We were headed to Mexico and the Reno Air Races. We never made it to either.

I was home from work, in bed with a case of flu and watching TV and saw the second plane fly into the tower and then, of course, all the rest of the day's events unfolded. My wife was on an Amtrak train coming home to Oklahoma City from a visit to our daughter and family in San Antonio, TX and her train was stopped in the middle of nowhere somewhere south of Fort Worth for several hours. Nobody had any idea why until the train moved again and got to a station stop. At that point, a new traveller boarded and the word spread through the train. It was sort of deja vu after our two week's effort with the Salvation Army back in 1995 in recovery work after the Murrah Federal Building bombing in Oklahoma City.
