my 1973 26; sequoia, has lost its 2 lines R and S . batt line is still intacked my problem is reading the R&S on the selonoid without removing the starter motor, looking from the front of the engine is the R conector on the left or right of the batt terminal,anyone out there able to help I would really appreciate. thanking you all for the help that moves across your net you may not hear from us to-often but we are out there taking lessons. thank you all. homer

Homer,
I'm going from very faulty memory here, (and my coach has HEI, hence no R terminal, so I can't look), but I believe the S terminal is nearest the engine block (right of batt cable by your description) and the R terminal is away from the block. Hopefully, someone else will confirm this though.
Having said that, I don't think it will hurt anything to have them backwards, it just won't crank.

could be the neutral start savety switch NSS
can be reached / bypassed at the steering column
