Getting ready to leave for Goshen tomorrow and, for some reason, the air compressor does not come on. The tell tale shows the air is low and switching the raise lower switches (Electrolevel 2) will actuate the relays which indicates to me that the 30A circuit breaker in the fuse box is OK. Everything seems to be working fine except the Viair compressor doesn't come on.

The last thing I did was replace the water pump.

Any suggestions welcomed.

A lot of people have wired the compressor to the house battery through the relay. So, the relay coils would be powered by the switches up front and the ignition being on, but the contacts of the relay would be wired to the "house" 12 v. fuse panel. Could it be on the same fuse as the water pump?

That's a thought. It could be that it is set to run off the house batteries and they are dead! I have the coach plugged in and interior lights are working - I should unplug the exterior AC power. BTW, however, the water pump I replaced was on the engine - but someone always asks.

Bill, make sure there is 12 volts to the Viair. Sounds like you are about to do that. If nothing else, get a pump and pump up the bags so you can get here tomorrow.

Bill,

To save yourself a lot of time chasing a wiring problem, I'd suggest you run a hot lead directly from the battery to the red lead on
the Viair. If it runs it's a wiring issue, obviously.

Rob M.
