Does anyone have a receiver hitch o there GMC and if so where did you
find one that fit or did you get one and fab it to fit the GMC. I am
in drastic need of a 2 inch receiver hitch and was looking for some
options. Help again would be great. we are making great progress on
our refurb and are looking forward to taking it on a trip. will send
pics on completion.
Thank you

John,
Depending on what you want to tow, I have a class I (1-1/4") receiver hitch that I took off my coach, that you can have if you want it. It is a bumper mount hitch that the PO used to tow an early model Tracker. I didn't trust it for my Jeep trailer, and fabricated my own through-the-bumper hitch instead.
Here is a pic from the PO's album:

It has four mounting points. Two on the rear cross-member and two on the bumper. I guess it would be sufficient for towing a small, light vehicle or trailer. That's what Bruce did.

My through the bumper hitch was designed for motor vehicle towing, not for
trailer towing, so would not be suitable for heavy vertical loads. It's
proven more than adequate for 12 years and probably 60,000 miles of 3500#
4-down towing. At a cost of <$100.

No, really, about $25 for the receiver tube, all the rest from the welding
shop. The cost was actually <<$100, but I factored in the materials cost
increase. :-)

So what I am looking for is a hitch that will hold 600 lbs plus
downwards. I am going to put a receiver hitch motorcycle carrier on
the rear. Any suggestions. Any help would be great.

Contact Blaine Merrell. I carry a 450 pound motorcycle on about a 50 pound carrier for a total of about 500 pounds on my Blaine Merrell through the bumper receiver hitch.

No, I do not know the cost. Mine is many years old and the price of steel has gone up appreciably since then. Just give Blaine a call. I know the last time I talked to him he was making a new batch at the time. He ought to have a few available for the GMCMI rally in a couple of weeks.
