Es verdad. But that was the closest thing I could come to. Since the name
is in the 'ball park' maybe the year is to: mid 70's.

G'day,

Note this line in the ad:

"I also have one brand new airbag and a used airbag from this same motorhome."

Huh?

Come on, Rob. You know "new" is a relative term. It means "not original".

Byron,

What I meant is that as far as I know OUR 1973 - 1978 GMC's NEVER came with air bags.

Rob,

Do you like "air springs" better?

Or, do you mean our coaches never had new and old bags with hot air in
them at the same time?

Maybe a definition of bag would be better, old or new. Hah!

Byron,

Douh!

For some crazy reason I thought this guy was talking about air bags in the steering wheel!

I said to myself that seemed strange as I had never heard of a vehicle from the 1970's with air bags in them!

I repeat DOUH!

Regards,
Rob M.

GM did have air bags in the 1970's.
Quote:

In 1974, GM made the ACRS or "Air Cushion Restraint System" available as a regular production option (RPO code AR3) in some full-size Buick, Cadillac and Oldsmobile models. The GM cars from the 1970s equipped with ACRS have a driver side airbag, a driver side knee restraint (which consists of a padded lower dashboard) and a passenger side airbag. The passenger side airbag, protects both front passengers and unlike most newer ones, it integrates a knee cushion, a torso cushion and it also has dual stage deployment which varies depending on the force of the impact. The cars equipped with ACRS have lap belts for all seating positions but they do not have shoulder belts. These were already mandatory equipment in the United States on closed cars without airbags for the driver and outer front passenger seating positions.

I contacted the seller. It is a 73 GMC motor home. I asked about the new airbag. He said he paid $680 for the new bag and would take $400 for both the new and old bags, if that is true the new bag shouldn't be that old. If anyone is interested call or e mail him.

Rob,

I suggest we take a pole. BBC should be able to come up with a prediction
before the final results are in.
