Pull-a-Part inventory http://www.pullapart.com/inventory/search.aspx

Eldorados:
2 - 73 Atlanta South
1 - 78 Atlanta North
1 - 75 Cleveland East
1 - 70 Nashville

Not one Toronado at any of their 15 or so locations.

We need to save all those TH-425's & FD's, & Front Suspensions, & 500 ci
Engines. I can't right now.

Ken H et al,

What is the fair market value of a TH 425 transmission?

I'm not trading in them, but I'd say maybe $150 in unknown but clean
condition. The last time I bought one myself was from Pull-a-Part 5+ years
ago for $40 w/FD.

I've got pics of the one in Cleveland East. Motor and trans were still in it a week ago.

Ken, Would the running gear from a 68 Eldorado be compatible with our coaches?

Denis,

The engine (425 ci?), transmission, and final drive would be. I'm not sure
about the A-arms; Steve F. will have to tell us that.

The 68 Eldo that I recently dismantled had a 472 cu in engine. The 472 has
the same bore size as the 500. The 500 has a longer stroke, and there are
some other minor differences. It could be made to work in a GMC. If my 403
ever gives up the ghost, I will use the 472 that I have to replace it. The
Trans was a TH 425 similar to the GMC, and the Final Drive was the same 3:07
that the coach uses. Inboard and out board cv joints are the same, the axles
are not. The hubs are passenger car only, the upper and lower control arms
are the same as the 73 - 74 GMC.They are not reinforced in the critical
areas like the later coaches, but can be modified with the addition of Steve
Ferguson's reinforcements, and the lower ball joints need to be replaced
with the motorhome ones. The knuckles appear to be the same thing with the
possible exception of the taper on the lower ball joint bore. That could be
enlarged to fit the motorhome one also. Wheel bearings are the same
diameter, but I do not know if the endplay is correct for the motorhome. The
sway bar and steering gearbox and links appear to be passenger car, not
motorhome. That is the differences and similarities that I have found.
Others may have more details.

I see toronado's occasionally on the California Pick-n-Pull inventory lists:
http://www.picknpull.com/check_inventory.aspx

Unfortunately, they want ~$140 for transmissions with tax and core
(maybe more with the final drive and cover) and you have to do all the work.
Not really worth the effort at that price.

Was just at Pull - A - Part Atlanta North bagging a vacuum pump.  Didn't see the Eldo, but I didn't get that far back in the lot.  Came a rainstorm and everyone faded with their prizes.  Pump out of a Buick, $23 tax and tip included.  NOW my dash A/C won't fade on hills.

I'll go dredge thje engine and trans and drive out of the Caddy in a couple weeks if someone wants it.  And if it's there.

Since we are on the subject, are there any of the "vendors" that routinely buy part cores from the for-mentioned vehicles? I just don't have much space to store the stuff till somebody wants/ needs them. If so I might be more inclined to get my butt up in the morning during the week and go play fetch. Perhaps someone could make a buyers list for us part scavengers? I would much rather see the stuff go to the people who will use/rebuild it rather than it going to the crusher.

Start your list with
1. Electric windshield wiper motors, arms and connectors from ’90-’96 Lumina or APV or Silhouette or TranSport (F/U/W Ken Henderson's kit, http://www.gmcwipersetc.com/ ) and
2. JC-4 (GM P/N 89058946) vacuum pumps from 03-07 fullsize truck and Tahoe (diesels?).

Sir: I need (4) dimmer switchs with the 4 wire pigtails from a 90-91 Jeep cherokee. It is located on the outside of the steering column toward the floor on the left side. It has the dimmer rod stuck in it, 2 nuts.

I also need a shortblock for a 96-98 Geo Tracker. It has the crank sensor directly behind the harmonic balincer in the front of the oil pan pointed down. Some 95s are the same.

Please contact me off net.

I just saw several Silhouette type vehicles at the mall Saturday. Pulled
off the steering wheel for my coach. I also picked up a few steering wheels
with the GMC logo on them.

What's your size/weight limit? Lots of folks need a couple of 2nd row seats from late model Honda Odysseys (with armrests definitely, and cupholders if they are included).
