If you are still old school as myself (no $ allotment for new tools) and are useing a R-12 set of AC gauges DO NOT lay your adapter to fit the 134a (duracool also) can tap down in the garage. It is a 1/2 female acme x 1/4 male flare. NAPA, AZ, Advance, Johnstone Supply, Davis Hose, Royal Brass, +, does not sell them anymore. Worthington Ag listes one on their website but no part # so nobody can lay hands on one.

I did find one at Fox supply in Nashville and is suppose to be on the way.

As a silver lining to this dreadfull story, Worthington sells their Duracool for $6 a can, no tax if out of state, and will give 10% discount if you buy by the case (12 cans) and tell them you work on GMC motorhomes. Worked for me.

UPDATE: Worthington called back and found their part # WN-0406 and they have 6 at the Leesburg store.

Thanks Chuck. I am picking up a case for Ken B. when I get home. Wil try to get the 10% discount from them but will have to pay the tax.

Chuck,

My adapter of the same description recently went missing. I found a replacement on E-bay. There were several to choose from. But you are correct, the parts - even the refrigeration stores I usually deal with don't seem to have them.

I keep both around because my vacuum pump is old.
