I just saw, not 10 minutes ago, a beige color GMC westbound on the James River Freeway about 3 miles east of the Battlefield MO exit.

Could this possibly be Marsha's coach? If it is, Randy is very close.

Yes, that was us. We got home just about 15 minutes ago. Had a little problem with flooding at idle the last few miles but limped on in. Will need to investigate before delivery to Marsha.

wow.

I am so happy to see this get done. I was just about a year ago this week that I spotted it at the RV dealer.

I hope everyone feels good about their contribution to this project.

Clearly, Randy & Margie made the biggest effort.

i had fun.

Marsha, do you feel some pressure to get some use from that Coach?

It's only 650 miles from Norheast Misouri to Bean Sation, TN. Hope to see you there. (if they'll let me come with my Revcon)

Was the Possum Rescue Fund enough? I'm wondering whether it was a
significant contributing factor in the success of this project, or
whether it was just a drop in the bucket? If it worked this time, it
may be an experiment worth repeating.

We haven't delivered the coach yet. We still have about 240 miles left to go. We made it to our house here in SW MO. Have a couple of things to "fix" then will head on up the way.

Once we are there, we will tally the expenses and see how we did. Gas is expensive. I will report our mpg later.

If the fund didn't have enough to cover it, is the "donate" function still available?

Randy;

Joe,

The coach did well on the hills from Jonesboro to Cabool. It has good power - the engine runs really well and the transmission seems to be sound. Of course, the "grades" south of Cabool are not that long. Even so, the temps would climb rapidly to the point I wouldn't want to be on the grade too much longer. The more I watch the way the temp behaves, I'm thinking it might be the thermostat. However, the PO had done a lot of stuff that appears to be geared to get heat under control. He put electric fans on in front of the condenser. I tried turning them on but smoke from behind the panel where the switches are convinced me to leave them off. He also put a shroud around the fan. It has really tight tolerance to the fan so much so that when I had to put an alternator belt on, I had to take the fan loose to get the belt over the fan.

Whoever did the work on the front-end did a nice job of getting it setup. The steering is tight and it goes down the road really well. I had envisioned having to fight the steering while driving put was pleasantly surprised.

For me, it was both the fund and the willingness of all to help. It wouldn't have happened otherwise.
I'm so very excited! It is so close to me! In just a few short days it will be home!
Just a little secret, my birthday is very close (and no, I'm not telling what number it is). This is the best birthday present I could every have.
I can't wait to get started on finishing the interior. it probably won't be ready before this season is over, but it should be ready by next year.
