Greetings:

I am curious to know if anyone has ever had, or heard of someone having, a rear wheel spindle failure – I know there have been rear wheel “spindle bearing” failures for various reasons, but I am curious about failures involving the spindles themselves.

The reason I ask is that while I have my ‘bogies’ off/apart for some R&R and upgrades, I was wondering if there was any need to have the spindles get some NDT (non-destructive testing) using Dye Penetrant / Magnaflux / X-Ray.

But if there have been no reported/known problems with the spindles, I’ll just Dye Penatrent check them for no other reason than “because I can” Very Happy

Thanks for any information you may have.
