I an installing transmission in 73 coach and the dust shield for converter housing is missing. If someone has one they could snap a picture of and provide a few dimensions so I could make one it would be much appreciated.

You are going to have one in hand to trace it. Maybe someone has one off of a coach, could trace it on paper, and mail it to you.

it's a very odd shape with a leg that goes up to a bolt that's all but impossible to reach.

i wonder how necessary it is??!!

Dan,

Do you need the bottom cover that conceals the flex plate, or the round one
on the left side of the bell housing? If the round one, I have one easily
accessible which I'll measure & photograph for you -- even though it's about
as important as the proverbial teats on a boar hog.

I am missing both and this coach has not had them since I bought it 6 years ago. It is my sons coach and after struggling to get the converter to disengage from crank he thought he would like them installed to hopefully help with that in the future. They a are not yet comfortable in dealing with these old machines. It is going back together with out them tonight and if they feel strongly enough e will install some at a later date.

Dan,

I've got to R&R my transmission soon, so I'll have the lower cover off also
& will TRY to remember to copy it also. Side dust cover info later today.

"Struggling to get the converter to disengage from the crank" confuses me:
Are you saying the 3 converter bolts through the flex plate were rusted in?
Or the flex plate to crank? Maybe the flex plate center bore to the crank
extension?
