My searches of the forum yield answers for removing the 450 pound Onan drawer but not the 1 pound interior drawers. These, with the simple centre slide, have me stumped. I don't want to apply too much pressure as the objective is to remove intact and return. Anyone have the secret?

On my 73 there is a tab at the back part of the drawer on the top held by 2
screws, I remove one screw and loosen the other to pivot the tab down out of
the way, other wise there is no way to get the drawers out. This looks like
it might have been a factory installed tab.

To remove just keep pulling the drawer. It will not harm it.
To reinsert it just line up the bottom center slide and push in.
Many of us have replaced that slide with slides that mount to the side of
the cabinet. You can get kitchen drawer slides that are self closing and
which will extend the drawer all the way out.

Serge,
On my 73, the tab you mention is hinged -- reach back and fold it forward to clear the drawer face frame to pull the drawer out.

This is the type of drawer stop on mine -- available at Lowes, HD, and inexpensive -- may be an easy replacement.
