I don't think the insurance will replace the windshield due to age related damage. Otherwise they would be on the hook for paint fading, mechanical failure, tire wear, etc. Now if that foggy window were to become accidentally broken..............

fI suspect that if the glass is fogged the insurance co will replace it even if it's not broken.

For less then $15 per year all my vehicles are covered 100% for glass. No
deductible. Worth every penny as a few years ago when they repaved the
Interstate in NJ I went through 2 windshields and a back glass.

Rob,

I have AOG - Auto Owners Group. I have them for home, car and business.
The GMC is insured for $8,000. I had quite bit of storm damage this past
April. They sent me a check for approximately 5K - that was after
deductible. I showed them the receipt for what I paid for the GMC, the
Honda seats and a few other things all they wanted was some proof that the
coach was under restoration and not just sitting. Having a recent bill of
sale helped also. They are rated number 1 in customer satisfaction, Oh -
they threw in a new roof for the house also - worth about 8K. You could
hardly see the damage to the roof, but they paid to replace it as they would
not be able to match the colors. I'm pretty happy with them.
