The propane tank under the dinette seat is fairly standard on the Coachman upfitted coaches. They all seem to have it... I have even seen this compartment, with the hole cut in the side, empty... because they installed the propane tank in the right rear compartment. (Just like GM did.) I do like the door.
At first I thought it had a smaller (BBQ size) forklift tank in the rear compartment behind the spare. THAT might be an interesting modification.
Harry wrote on Wed, 10 August 2011 18:56 | I always thought that a door or drawer in that same location, would be a good place to put the spare tire. It would clean up the back end nicely.
|
Kind of like this? (not one of my coaches): <http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=28863>
I have been told this set up eats way into the available storage, even under a fixed rear bed. But yes, it does clean up the rear of the coach.

Hey! Maybe that is an answer for my current situation. I could undercut this guy and give tours of my '78 Royale for $1. Macerator demonstrations extra.

Stick,
Great idea...if you can avoid all the local bureaucrats that are going to want you to have a business license and pay taxes!

Mike, I did just that to mine. Got rid of the large one and put the small one in the front of that compartment. Gives me storage for some eatra stuff. I built a raised dinette and those doors would allow me to access all the storage under the seats from the outside. I like it and that door is easy to get at the RV parts places.

This appears to be a very nice coach. It will be interesting to see if it sells and for how much. $2 tour charges would help to keep out the nosy lookie loos.
