When the hell is the heavy duty hover conversion going to be available for the GMC? That and ETOPS, I could then fly my coach to Europe instead of having to deal with F*cked US Airways. GRRRRRR.

i KNOW it's another one of those work slowdowns by the East coast US Air pilots. Fire 'em all and let the America West pilots have their slots. Really. It's about time. This really sucks when you are in Amsterdam waiting to get home.

I am so sick of air travel. It has really gone to the dogs. You retired guys have it made!

Trying to get my A$$ home!!!!!

Sorry.

/Rant off.

Chris,
I can see why you would want to get A$$ home as they are currently better
value than US$$
I guess you were talking American $$ but had to get this one in.

I agree Chris... I saw a post on an airline blog the other day that called
passengers "self loading cargo". That about sums up the flying
experience. 5 years ago, I could actually schedule flight times within an
hour or two of meetings and never had a problem. Now it often takes a whole
day just on domestic travel. My last trip from Schiphol was a 12 hour wait.

To add insult to injury, they wasted so much time rebooking everyone, we left later than we could have. I got to gate C20 at PHL just in time to watch Randy taxi away from the gate. (Well maybe it wasn't Randy). if the security Dip$#!+s here worked faster than the speed of a fart, then maybe I could have made my original connection. instead i'm drinking $1 beers in the USAirways lounge for 5 hrs.

You do know that ETOPS stands for Engines Turn Or People Swim.

No I only go to PHL wearing my Mexican Wrestling mask I picked up in Mexico City. Speaking of things I picked up in Mexico City, I'm a little reluctant to put many farts on the dyno.

Chris,

As a field rep for Hamilton Standard for thirty years I agree with you. Over
that period air travel got less and less fun. People always used to say to
me "boy, what a great job, you get to travel all around the world." They
would say that because for most people air travel is associated with
vacations. I used to note that while they would drive to work daily I had to
fly there for hours and that the first trip to just about anywhere was fun,
however, the fourth trip through West Africa wasn't nor was the 6th time to
Chengdu, PRC. If you think air travel in the first world is bad, try the
third!

We usually head back to the USA once a year from Australia to do a bit of
touring in Double Trouble. I have a couple of credit cards we got before we
retired to Australia that are tied in with United and I get 1 mile for every
USD spent. We charge anything and everything we can. We buy the cheapest
upgradeable tickets as the flight from Sydney to the west coast is a LONG
haul and use FF miles to upgrade to Business Class or at the least pay for
Economy Plus.

I reckon the AA prayer applies to air travel now-a-days; "God grant me the
serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the
things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

Rob M.
