We had the pleasure to meet Clarence and Claudia Williams this evening. Original owners of a 1973 CanyonLands.

The wife and I were driving home from installing floors in the coach and made a stop at a Target in El Cerrito, CA; off our normal circuit. On the way back to the freeway, spotted a GMC that had just gotten a bath. We couldn't help stopping, and were able to meet both the owners. What a treat! We were welcomed in and given a tour once we explained we weren't crazy people making erratic U-Turns in front of their house... or at least not any more crazy than they're used to.

The coach itself is basically original with only 60k on the clock! The addition of Alcoa Hotshots, and some interior fans seem to be the only deviations from stock, but the coach is in top condition and loved by the Williams and their kids for many years. Original upholstery and co-pilot bench seats were awesome!

Clarence told us that his is/was the second original GMC in Northern California. The first belongs to the Mitchell's who live a short distance away and still own and drive theirs. A great detour on our way home.

As is always the case, we can't say enough about the hospitality of fellow GMC owners. Clarence and Claudia are no exceptions and welcomed us into their home just for the chance to show off the coach. Great folks.
