Got back this afternoon from our Wisconsin to Massachusetts trip, 2600 miles. Broke the alternator belt in Indiana, and had to reattach a battery tray when the rough roads in Chicago broke it loose. Nothing major. The newly recharged (Duracool) and reworked AC was blowing 45 degrees, so I was happy with that. Had lots of lookers and comments at rest stops and campgrounds! Didn't see any other GMCs. The hills between Hartford, CT, and Hyde Park, NY, (9% grades) gave the tranny and brakes a workout, darn GPS! Should have stayed on the Interstate. Used a quart and a half of oil and turned over 80,000 miles. The GMC displayed at the RV Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Indiana, could use a set of Bill Brown's DVDs to complement it. Great trip overall!
