I had that problem with the ARP studs but I was able to get it to clear by jacking the block to one side just enough to get it past the floor opening. The engine mounts had just enough give to let the studs clear.

Yes,,,studs and nuts are better. But after the studs are installed I don't
think you can install the head because it will hit the floor. Haven't done
it myself but read that somewhere. Could measure clearence and the height of
the head,,,,,,PL
