I second the lower ball joint issues. I read about it here forever but didn't
really believe it somehow. Tests of our ball joints on the coach seemed ok. However,
when I took them off to do the 1-ton kit, I found they were completely, utterly, trashed.
Now I'm a believer...
A mechanic friend describes bad ball joints as "self aligning". That is,
they align themselves with every rut and bump in the road! Pretty well describes
the handling we had.

I find that the lower control arm ball joint is almost always badly worn,
and the upper ones are seldom worn. The bushings are almost always
completely shot on every coach that I work on or inspect. Tie rod ends,
particularly on the pass side, are almost always worn enough to permit
steering wander. A further thing that I might add to the cautions, is to
verify clearance between the drive shaft CV boot and the fasteners that hold
the lower ball joint in place. The replacement ball joints on the stock
lower control arms also have this same issue. Check after the coach is back
on the ground and the axle nut is fully tightened. There is not a lot of
room in either case.
