Finally got around to playing with the Onan today and installed the new fuel pump from JimK. Hooked it up to the carb, put a fuel line in a gas can and ran the pump off a battery with jumpers. Onan fired and ran for the first time in 10 months. Shut if off and checked power at the Onan feed wire to the pump and it is hot during crank and run. Hooked the pump up to the Onan power and still using the gas can and it won't start. Battery was a little weak so started the coach and the Onan fired right off using the inside switch. Shut the coach off and the onan continued to run just fine. Shut it down and it would not restart even using the inside switch. Start the coach and the onan fired right off. Unhooked power from the coach to the onan and used the battery jumpers and it would not start.

It seems that the onan wants to start only if the coach is running. Any ideas on how to get the onan to run without having to start the coach first?
