Hi all
Have been doing my home work and found an item called a drive shaft disconnect. Might any body have one for sale. If not just checked under vitara and to remove drive shaft is a piece of cake. Four small nuts and bolts and all is done
Thanks All
Marcel

I wouldn't want to crawl under the towd to reinstall the drive-line every time i want to use it.

A disconnect would be a good idea, but it looks like they are not being produced right now.... Search "Remco disconnect".

DO TO PARTS SHORTAGES FROM SUPERFLOW. WE WILL NOT BE SUPPLYING THE DRIVELINE DISCONNECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. THE MACHINE SHOP IN OMAHA THAT PRODUCED THE COUPLER HEAD FOR SUPERFLOW (REMCO) BURNT TO THE GROUND IN JUNE.... AS OF THE BELOW DATE THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY """" NO """"" COUPLER HEADS AVAILABLE ANYWHERE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!!.

Maybe post a "WTB" ad on other RV sites? Craigslist?

... or look for a 4x4 transfer case that will fit.

Tom Bradley, one of the GMC Saguaro Jet Setters has one installed in his
Tacoma. It works flawlessly. The only occasional hiccup is when the
splines do not line up and simply releasing the park brake or rocking the
truck cures that quickly.

I've had two pickups with Remco driveshaft disconnects, an '88 GMC Sonoma and a '98 Sonoma, both 4X4's. The disconnect worked great on both of them. I did have them installed by a hitch shop. The only drawback I could see was the mechanism on the diffential was sort of exposed for serious off roading, but you usually don't do that in a Sonoma. Prior to the Remco's, I did the "crawl under" on a '44 Jeep. Not fun even when it's not raining. I used to haul ramps in the jeep to make it easier to connect and disconnect. Wouldn't do that again. We now tow a PT Cruiser automatic, so it has a pump for towing.
