An electric knife, kitchen variety, works well for cutting foam.

Update on upholstery progress... After a week away from the task, I am back
doing the upper bunk section. If I would have started with this piece, I
think I would have been calling in professional help! Sorry, no videos on
this one yet. Just cutting, sewing, cutting and sewing... Velcro,
staples, thread, etc. Visualizing how all the pieces go together and
attach to the frame has been the largest challenge of the entire project.

More later...

That's one tough piece to handle. For me there are too many things to cut
incorrectly. Velcro is a friend, however. Jack Daniels can be, too.

Maybe that is my problem... I have been having Bud help when I probably
should have called in Jack.

Mike,

I hate to be greedy, but have you shot any video of the finished upholstery project?

Watching your videos makes me realize why the upholstery guys get paid as they do. I suppose nothing is for free!

Larry,

I have a friend that has run his own Auto Upholstery and Trim Shop for over
40 years. I used to help him quite a bit and learned a lot. Yes, it is a
lot of work. I have reached the point where I was pretty good - just took
me a little longer. Worst project I ever did was making all new cushions
and backrest for our deck furniture - but it did justify buying a $3,000+
sewing machine made in Germany. It can do over 3000 stitches a minute - way
more then I need!

I haven't even developed my interior scheme yet. Have to stop the water
leaks first!

I do have video but it is all sitting in the flip video camera right now.
I got the upholstery finished, cleaned up the inside and we pulled out to go
use the coach...

Then the front brake hung up with failing rubber hoses,
that made me notice that the hard line ends were in bad shape even if I
could get them off,
that made me notice that the power bleeder was pulling air through the rear
cylinders,
that made me notice that the top of the front shock was broken,
that made me notice that the exhaust manifolds were leaking on the rear of
each side,
that made me think I should just mount two more seat belts while I had the
front fender liners off,
that made me think I should just add one of those cool new foot well liners
while I was ordering stuff from JimK,
then a post here pointed to those sleek looking interior lights on ebay for
almost free,
that also made me think that I hadn't been to the pool with my daughter all
summer... ok, that one she reminded me of...
And cyclocross season is getting ready to start...

So, I will get a new video up soon. But summer is fading fast, and I am
trying to use every last ounce of it!
