Dometic lists the RM2510 as a direct replacement for the RM66, as supplied in the Avion 26' Coaches.
It is not a direct plug and play replacement. The RM2510 is a taller and deeper than the space that is occupied by the RM66. The biggest problem is the curvature of the GMC walls. The RM2510 uses a larger cooling coil system, and it really does require 24" of space, front to back. When you remove the original RM66, you will notice that Avion had to remove the insulation, back to the outside skin to make the original frig fit. Even with this removal of material there is not enough space (depth to wall) to fit the RM2510.
The method I used, is to remove the original floor that the RM66 is sitting on, and lower it all the way down to the wheel well intrusion. This gives you enough room to install the bigger RM2510. You should not have to extend the Avion installed small side walls that surrounded the RM66. You will have to remove the lower door, the bar between the walls at the lower door, and the two wooden supports that held the original floor in place.
Then you must seal the new opening above the frig so the heat chimney will work. I intend to use this area to install a microwave, and get it off the kitchen counter.
The gas line will have to be modified to fit.
If you do not need the interior room of the RM2510, a RM2410 will fit without modification, except for addressing the heat chimney.

Measurements: (read height x width x depth, in inches)

RM66 39 3/16 x 21 7/8 x 23 5/8
RM2410 32 7/16 x 21 13/16 x 24
RM2510 40 5/16 x 21 13/16 x 24

Hope this helps. Remember to measure twice and cut once. Thanks to Paul Doanne for the tip on removal of the floor for adequate room.

Tom,

One of Double Trouble's PO's installed a two way / two door Dometic fridge,
he had to move it towards the aisle by 3" to make it fit. The first year we
toured in it we had problems with keeping things cool in the fridge.

I bought a pack of four 4" computer fans from Fry's and found there was
enough room to install screws through two of the fan mounting holes and into
the aluminum channel at the top of the fridge access door. They stick into
the fridge compartment. I tie wrapped the mounting holes at the "free" end
together (yeah, I know a bit Mickey Mouse) and wired them to the 12vdc power
to the fridge through a switch. They create an upwards draft and the fridge
works great now.

When you modify the refer cabinet, be sure to leave someway for any propane leakage to drain from the coach. Coachman mounted the refer above the belt-line so the outside vent/door is level with the cabinet floor.... sounds like Avion did something like that. Lowering the floor of the cabinet might make an area for propane to pool.

For my (GM upfitted) 1973, I drilled a hole from the cabinet to the inside corner of the wheel well and installed a sink drain pipe.
